FMLA Evaluations
When a psychological condition is significantly limiting your ability to work, FMLA provides a structured, job-protected pathway for taking the time you need.
This evaluation assesses how your condition affects work functioning and whether clinical criteria for leave are met. When criteria are met, the appropriate certification forms are completed and provided for submission to your employer.
Two types of FMLA leave may apply depending on the nature of your condition.
Schedule Intermittent FMLA Evaluation
Intermittent FMLA applies when symptoms are episodic and unpredictably interfere with work duties on a recurring basis.
Schedule Continuous FMLA Evaluation
Continuous FMLA applies when your condition requires an extended, uninterrupted period away from work.
Short-Term Disability Evaluations
Short-term disability provides partial income replacement when a psychological condition temporarily prevents you from working. Unlike FMLA, which protects your position but is unpaid, short-term disability addresses the financial impact of leave.
This evaluation includes diagnostic clarification and assessment of functional impairment as it relates to work capacity. When clinical criteria are met, a structured report is provided and required insurer or employer forms are completed documenting current limitations and the anticipated duration of leave.
Long-Term Disability Evaluations
Long-term disability applies when a psychological condition extends beyond the coverage period of short-term disability and continues to prevent return to work. Many LTD claims require updated psychological documentation as the claim progresses.
This evaluation includes a comprehensive review of diagnosis, current functional limitations, and prognosis as they relate to sustained work capacity. A structured report is provided for submission to your insurer in accordance with your policy requirements.
